How does this artwork represent healthy human aging? (Artwork Description)

I am 88 years old and art has played a crucial role in maintaining my cognitive and functional well-being. It boosts my self esteem, opens doors to social interaction, and gives me feelings of accomplishment and happiness. It has also allows me to share this wonderful form of communication in the weekly classes I teach at two homes for the Aged. The Pacific Spirit Regional Park, an unceded territory of the Musqueam people, located behind my home, has been my muse since I moved here 7 years ago. I identify with its majestic trees, baring their crooked roots, scarred trunks and twisted limbs. I connect with their strength and resilience as their branches keep growing and seeking the light and warmth of the sun. I continue on my path without fear as I encounter rocks, that seem unsurmountable but become obstacles I soon overcome. The shrubs, ferns, vines, mushrooms and moss, remind me of the importance of appreciating the small things that make each day special. The fallen trees represent friends I have lost, bringing feelings of sadness but at the same time thankfulness that I can live another day, paint another artwork and teach others to do the same!
