Title: Resilience Is Strength
Artist: Denny Provost
Medium: Painting (acrylic on upcycled skateboard, clear-coated)
How does this artwork represent healthy human aging? (Artwork Description)
This portrait is dedicated to my wife. She was in a terrible car accident that left her with broken bones and scars all over. Doctors wanted to cut off her arm and told her she’d be in a wheelchair from her broken back. She was given 10 years to live. She is now at 19 years and has baffled doctors because of her resilience. She couldn’t walk and now she walks to work. She couldn’t work and now works full time. She eats healthy now when it used to be a lot of junk food. Making an effort to improve her body against all odd have provided that healthy aging is possible with action. She is the strongest she’s been in her life after such an ordeal and now promotes that positive actions of taking care of your body will help in aging in a healthy manner.
