How does this artwork represent healthy human aging? (Artwork Description)
The “Healthy Aging” concept led me to think about what is important to us as we age. It started with a question, “What if the heart takes the place of the brain?” and upon further thought, it sparked the creation of a surreal art piece where the heart has swapped places with the brain in the human body. The heart dictates the thoughts of the body rather than the logical mind. A happy heart plays a vital role in the aging process. This art piece depicts a heart that dominates the body’s processes, and a person being able to do what the heart desires. The stethoscope around the neck symbolizes that the healthy aging process is prone to disease or health conditions. The human body needs help and support during the aging process with regards to health. In my opinion, as we age, we start to think from the heart, we follow what our heart says, and a content heart definitely aids a healthy body. Regardless of the health conditions our body is facing as we grow, if we maintain a happy and cheerful heart, it is guaranteed that our body will cope well. In short, the aging process is not disease free, but a happy heart could help with healthy aging.
