In this project, the UBC IDEA Lab is collaborating with global researchers from Singapore, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Britain, Brunei, and Canada to examine ageing perceptions cross-nationally. Their project seeks to answer the following research questions: influence these perceptions?
How do personal, social, and cultural experiences shape their attitudes towards ageing?
What differences exist in perceptions based on gender, socio-economic status, or life stage?
What does ageing well mean to elderly individuals in various cultural contexts, and what factors contribute to their ability to age well?
How do health, social support, financial stability, and cultural expectations play a role in defining ageing well?
