How does this artwork represent healthy human aging? (Artwork Description)
I am part of a volunteer group where Sultan, one of the most respected photographers, also volunteers. At over 85 years old, Sultan remains an active member, never shying away from giving his time and guidance to our team. Although he has adapted to the new digital DSLR systems, his photography journey began well before I was born, spanning from Africa to Canada. Throughout his life, despite changes in culture, one constant has been his passion and love for photography.
Even today, if someone from our team is unavailable to capture an event and Sultan gets the call, he shows up with his camera to capture the perfect shot. Did I mention I’ve always seen a smile on his face? My takeaway from his life is that having a hobby or passion that evokes your deepest emotions and brings a smile even on the gloomiest days is invaluable. After all, if he clicks with a smile, the person in front of the camera will likely say “cheese”.
