How does this artwork represent healthy human aging? (Artwork Description)

I have always been healthy and very active. After graduating from the University of Guelph in 1968, I worked with the Boy Scouts of Canada and then travelled around Europe where I met my wife of over 50 years. Upon returning, I began my apprenticeship in carpentry and eventually started my own company where I took on projects that held the challenge of not just utility, but design as well. After retirement I happily stumbled into a a series of assignments for Canada’s Foreign Affairs (CIDA) helping to develop native arts and crafts in many countries. For my own work, I started to experiment with small sculptures made from recycled materials and was accepted to the British Columbia Sculptors Society. I live by the beach in Boundary Bay and most days wander along picking up interesting things for my sculptures. Actually, until I gave thought to healthy aging with your call to artists, I never really gave it much thought. My friends which have been around since I was a kid are now developing health scares which puts your life into perspective. I am developing cataracts, but while my glasses allow me to work at arms length, I have changed my reading habits to listening to e-books.
