Mohammadreza Hajipour

Mohammadreza Hajipour (MEng) is a PhD student in the Department of Experimental Medicine at UBC. He completed his undergraduate training in Electronic Engineering at the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) and then decided to pursue a master’s in Biomedical Engineering at IUST.

His current research focuses on sleep apnea physiology, epidemiology, and health consequences. The focus of his work is to better understand physiological consequences of sleep apnea (including hypoxia, sleep fragmentation, and sympathetic activation) and how they relate to health outcomes (e.g., cardiovascular disease, cognitive dysfunction) using advance signal processing and machine learning techniques.
