Dialogue on Aging Public Presentation Series: Dr. Janet Kow

The Dialogue on Aging Public Presentation Series is hosted by the Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging and Providence Health Care. On April 17th, 2024, we have the pleasure of hosting a virtual session with Dr. Janet Kow, Vice-President of Quality and Safety at Providence Health Care!

Title: The Future of Aging: New Ways to Strengthen and Sustain Well-being

Summary: At this informative presentation, Dr. Kow will discuss a range of strategies that seniors with diverse abilities and needs can use to strengthen and sustain their well-being. These include building resilience, recognizing the significance of maintaining purpose and meaning in life, and using creative ways to address issues of frailty.

Speaker Biography: Dr. Janet Kow is an experienced Geriatrician who works out of St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her scope includes outreach to the Sunshine Coast and the Interior of the province. Dr. Kow has a master’s degree in adult education and held the position of University of British Columbia division head and program director for Geriatric Medicine. Presently, she is the Vice-President of Quality and Safety at Providence Health Care.
